about-us-1

Our Goal

Our goal is a lofty one. We envision over 40,000 zip-code specific communities empowering their respective citizens to Go GlobaLocal in the County of Clouds, in a State of Sustainability, in a GlobaLocal Nation and realizing the American Dream while singing out-loud “Blue Water Green Tree!”

Our Story

Daniel Stephen Griffing, founder of CityOfZip.com, has been developing his unique project since 1976. In 2004, Mr. Griffing took his years of experience in marketing and formed GriffMedia, a 4th generation multimedia entity headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 2005, Mr. Griffing launched American Aardvark Classifieds, an affiliated virtual publication powered by American Classifieds and Thrifty Nickel featuring local classifieds in 10 American cities. Over the years, American Aardvark Classifieds has evolved into a classified advertisements website with sections devoted to jobs, housing, for sale, items wanted, services, community, zip-code specific environmental issues, zip-code specific social causes, zip-code business directories, and multiple Google Hangouts.  As of September, 2018, it’s network has expanded to 104 cities in 40 states, Washington D.C., San Juan in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico in addition to 5 Canadian cities.

In 2018, GriffMedia reorganized as Mad Avenue Media, headquartered in tech-savvy Austin, Texas. On September 1, 2018 he officially launched CityOfZip.com.
